Venues of the Gauliga Niedersachsen 1941/42 (red = group north; blue = group south)

The Gauliga Niedersachsen 1941/42 was the ninth and last season of the Gauliga Niedersachsen of the German Football Association . The Lower Saxony Gauliga was again divided into two groups of six teams each this season. The three best teams each qualified for a final group in which the Gaumeister was played. In the end, SV Werder Bremen prevailed and became Lower Saxony's Gaumeister for the fourth time. Bremen qualified for the German soccer championship 1941/42 , in which they reached the quarter-finals after victories over Hamborn 07 and Eimsbütteler TV , but were eliminated there after a 3: 4 defeat against Kickers Offenbach .

This was the last season of the Gauliga Niedersachsen. Due to the war, it was dissolved at the end of the season and replaced by the Gauliga Südhannover-Braunschweig and the Gauliga Weser-Ems . A year later, the Gauliga Osthannover was added.
