Georg Bachmann (born December 6, 1885 in Westheim , † October 23, 1971 in Gunzenhausen ) was a German farmer and politician ( DNVP , CNBL , later CSU ).

Life

After completing primary school and attending the advanced training school in Westheim, Bachmann completed agricultural and cooperative advanced training courses at the Nuremberg Commercial College . He worked in the agricultural cooperative system from 1903, did military service with the 6th Bavarian Chevauleger Regiment from 1906 to 1909 and was last appointed sergeant there. From 1914 to 1918 he took part in the First World War as a soldier . During the war, he first served in the Bavarian Reserve Cavalry Regiment No. 5, where he was promoted to Vice Sergeant. After being wounded, he was transferred to Fürth as an administrative inspector for the garrison administration .

After the end of the war, Bachmann worked as a self-employed farmer in Westheim and continued to work part-time in the agricultural cooperative system. He had been managing director of the Middle Franconian Dairy Association since 1919, became its chairman in 1922 and chairman of the Bavarian Cooperative Association in Ansbach in the same year . He also acted as chairman of the Mittelfränkische Kreisdarlehnskasse and as chairman of the agricultural district association in Heidenheim .

After the Second World War was Ökonomierat Bachmann President of the Bavarian Raiffeisen Association and chairman of its business institutions. In addition, he acted as the third president of the Bavarian farmers' association , as chairman of the dairy industry association and as district attorney for Middle Franconia . He was also a member of the regional synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bavaria . From 1958 to 1963 he was also chairman of the supervisory board of Bayerische Warenvermittlung Agricultural Cooperatives AG (BayWa).

Political party

Bachmann joined the DNVP after the November Revolution and moved to the CNBL in 1930 . Since July 1, 1940, he was a member of the NSDAP . He joined the CSU in 1945 and from 1949 to 1954 was a member of the state committee of the Christian Socials.

MP

During the Weimar Republic , Bachmann was a council member of the Westheim community. In the Reichstag election in June 1920 , he was elected to the German Reichstag , to which he was a member until July 1932. In parliament he represented the constituency of Franconia . In 1946 he was a member of the Bavarian State Constitutional Assembly and was then a member of the Bavarian State Parliament until 1962 . In 1953/54 he served as second vice-president of the state parliament.

Public offices

After 1945, Bachmann was mayor of the Westheim community and deputy district administrator of the Gunzenhausen district .
