John George "Buck" Boucher (born August 19, 1896 in Ottawa , Ontario , † October 17, 1960 ) was a Canadian ice hockey player who played for the Ottawa Senators , Montreal Maroons and Chicago Black Hawks in the National Hockey League .

Career

Boucher started his athletic career as a halfback in the football team Ottawa Rough Riders , only after three years did he switch to ice hockey. There he started as a striker in the Ottawa City League with the Burghs . For the 1917/18 season he moved to the NHL for the Ottawa Senators.

With the Senators, the left shooter won the Stanley Cup four times between 1920 and 1927 , and in 1928 he moved to the Montreal Maroons. By the end of his career in 1932 with the Chicago Blackhawks, Boucher completed 457 NHL games, scoring 122 goals and 62 assists . After his active career, he was active as a coach with the Senators, the Boston Bruins , the St. Louis Eagles and the Blackhawks.

Buck Boucher became ill with cancer in 1954 and was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame three weeks before his death in 1960 . His four brothers Frank , Joe , Bobby and Billy were also professional NHL players.
