The Gmina Bardo [ ˈbardɔ ] is an urban-and-rural municipality in the powiat Ząbkowicki of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship in Poland . Its seat is the city of the same name (also Bardo Śląskie ; German Wartha ) with about 2550 inhabitants. The city is one of the most famous Marian pilgrimage sites in Silesia .
Geographical location
The municipality borders in the northeast on the district town of Ząbkowice Śląskie (Frankenstein) . The town of Kłodzko (Glatz) is six kilometers to the southwest. The area belongs to the historical Lower Silesia . Bardo is located on the Glatzer Neisse (Nysa Kłodzka).
history
In 1969, Bardo was given back the city rights that were revoked in 1945 .
From 1975 to 1998 the municipality belonged to the Wałbrzych Voivodeship (Waldenburg) .
