Golyschmanowo ( Russian Голышманово ) is a settlement in the Tyumen Oblast ( Russia ) with 13,634 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010).
geography
The settlement is located in the West Siberian lowlands , almost 200 kilometers as the crow flies southeast of the Oblast capital Tyumen near the source of the Katyshka river in the catchment area of the right Irtysh tributary Wagai .
Golyschmanowo is the administrative center of the Golyschmanowo Rajon of the same name .
history
The place was founded in 1911 in connection with the closure of the then northern and now main line of the Trans-Siberian Railway between Tyumen and Omsk , when a train station was built here. The station and the station settlement were initially called Katyschka after the nearby brook . The railway line was opened in 1913.
In 1948 urban-type settlement was granted. At the same time the settlement got its current name after the 15 km located village of the same name, which was built in the first half of the 18th century and where the administration of the newly founded Golyschmanowo district had been located since November 3, 1923.
Since 2009 the place has been a rural settlement again.

Culture and sights
There has been a local museum in Golyschmanowo since 1963 .
Economy and Infrastructure
Golyschmanowo is the center of an agricultural area; companies in the food industry predominate (grain, dairy and meat processing).
In the place there is a station of the Trans-Siberian Railway (route km 2350 from Moscow ). The federal highway R402 Tyumen - Omsk bypasses Golyschmanowo to the north.
