Uporowo ( Russian Упо́рово ) is a village (selo) in the Tyumen Oblast in Russia with 5847 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010).

geography

The place is located about 100 km as the crow flies south-southeast of the Oblast Administrative Center of Tyumen in the southern part of the West Siberian lowlands . It is located on the Uporowka river just above its confluence from the right into the Tobol tributary of the Irtysh .

Uporowo is the administrative center of the Rajons Uporowski and seat and only town in the rural community Uporowskoje selskoje posselenije.

history

The village was founded in the first half of the 18th century. Since January 1, 1932, it has been the administrative seat of a Rajon named after him.

The regional road 71N-1906 leads to Uporowo, which begins as 71N-808 (number on the territory of the Zavodoukovsky rajon ) in the town of Zavodoukovsk , located almost 30 km northeast on the federal highway R402 Tyumen - Omsk . The closest train station to the Trans-Siberian Railway is also in Zavodoukowsk.

In a westerly direction the road crosses the Tobol at Uporowo and leads as 71N-1908 to the neighboring district center Issetskoye . The 71N-1901 runs to the southwest to Armisonskoye .
