Gonzalez is a census-designated place (CDP) in Escambia County in the US state of Florida with 13,273 inhabitants (as of 2010).

Gonzalez is about 5 km north of Pensacola and is crossed by US Highway 29 .

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the then 13,273 inhabitants were distributed over 5,244 households. The population density was 335.2 inh / km². 83.9% of the population identified themselves as whites, 10.6% as African American , 0.9% as Indians and 1.7% as Asian Americans . 0.4% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 2.4% to several ethnic groups. 2.9% of the population was made up of Hispanics or Latinos .

In 2010 children under 18 years of age and 24.2% of all households lived in 37.3% of all households with persons at least 65 years of age. 78.3% of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.70 people and the average family size was 3.04 people.

27.8% of the population were younger than 20 years old, 12.3% were 20 to 39 years old, 30.7% were 40 to 59 years old, and 19.2% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 40 years. 48.4% of the population were male and 51.6% were female.

The median annual income was $ 72,894, with 7.7% of the population living below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the mother tongue of 97.28% of the population, 2.44% spoke Spanish and 0.28% spoke German .
