Ferry Pass is a census-designated place (CDP) in Escambia County in the US state of Florida with a population of 28,921 (as of 2010).

Ferry Pass borders Pensacola and the city's airport directly to the north . Interstates 10 and 110 , US Highway 90 ( SR 10 ) and Florida State Roads 289 , 290 , 291 and 742 cross or touch the CDP .

Ferry Pass is part of the Pensacola-Ferry Pass-Brent Metropolitan Statistical Area .

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the then 28,921 inhabitants were distributed over 14,104 households. The population density was 792.4 inh / km². 76.8% of the population identified themselves as whites , 15.3% as African American , 0.7% as Indians and 2.2% as Asian Americans . 1.6% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 3.3% to several ethnic groups. 5.9% of the population were Hispanics or Latinos .

In 2010 there were children under the age of 18 in 22.0% of all households and persons aged 65 and over lived in 27.4% of all households. 52.0% of the households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.10 people and the average family size was 2.74 people.

21.8% of the population were younger than 20 years, 32.0% were 20 to 39 years old, 22.8% were 40 to 59 years old, and 23.4% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 36 years. 46.2% of the population were male and 53.8% were female.

The median annual income was $ 43,118, with 15.7% of the population living below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the first language of 94.94% of the population, 2.42% spoke Spanish and 2.64% had another mother tongue.
