Großenbach is a district of Hünfeld in the eastern Hessian district of Fulda .
Geographical location
Großenbach is located in the Rhön Biosphere Reserve and the Hessian Rhön Nature Park . The place is located 2.8 km north-east of the Hünstelfeld core city on the Haune- tributary Hasel ; the district town of Fulda is 17 km south-southwest. The Rößberg rises south of the village .
history
The village in the year 1000 when it was first documented Gruzebach in Urbar the monastery of Fulda .
- In 1232 it was called Grozenbach. The basic rule held the monastery of Fulda.
- In 1436 a sacrament house was mentioned.
- In 1594, Großenbach belonged to the parish of Hünfeld .

The current church was built between 1838 and 1840. The Romanesque church tower dates from the 11th century.
Reorganization
On December 31, 1971, the previously independent community was incorporated into the city of Hünfeld.
