The Gruppenbach is a nearly 9 km long brook in northern Baden-Württemberg, which flows into the Schozach from the right near Ilsfeld in the Heilbronn district .

geography

course

The Gruppenbach arises on the eastern slope of the Hintersberg in the Heilbronn city forest and runs from here to the east in a less pronounced hollow. After about a kilometer and a half, it reaches the road from Heilbronn to Obergruppenbach and then follows it south through its valley, which is now meadow-covered in the floodplain.

Shortly before Obergruppenbach the corridor widens, here two slightly shorter streams flow into one another from the west and east. Even before Untergruppenbach , the right edge hill is flat and without forests, while on the left side the ascent is steeper and the forest initially extends to the shore. Shortly before the village, the Donnbronner Bach flows from the right , its longest tributary. The Gruppenbach then crosses the village to the east and passes Stettenfels Castle on its left bank; thereafter the left edge of the hill will also be free of forest up to the top.

Wüstenhausen is to the right of the stream at the foot of the very flat eastern slope, behind the hamlet the Erlenbach flows from the right at the Landturm . Immediately afterwards turn lies right in the Bustadt a small industrial estate, after the crossing of the group stream from the A81 and then the road from Ilsfeld to Abstatt what he km after a run of 8.7 from right at the West bend in the Schozach opens .

Catchment area

The Gruppenbach has a catchment area of 16.3 km², the highest parts of which are naturally located around the upper reaches of the forest in the lower Heilbronn Mountains of the Swabian-Franconian Forest Mountains and the larger remaining part in the Schozachplatten sub-region of the Neckar basin . It is mostly to the right of the water. Its border runs from the Schweinsberg in the northwest in the Heilbronn city forest over the Hintersberg and the Reisberg to the Sandberg on the other side of the A 81 in the northeast and bends here. It then usually runs a short distance from him between the creek and the route of the A 81 southwards to the mouth. From there, the watershed with strong bulges and indentations runs north, initially cutting through the industrial area in the bus city southwest of the Landturm and finally Donnbronn west of the center of the village and then reaching the Schweinsberg again .

The watershed in the north separates in its western area between Schweinsberg and Hintersberg from the catchment area of the Heilbronner Pfühlbach , between Hintersberg and Reisberg from that of the Weinsberger Stadtseebach , on the remaining part up to the Sandberg in the northeast from that of the Ellhofen Ellbach ; the first flows directly into the Neckar , the other two over the Sulm . Since the Gruppenbach flows into the southern arch of the Schozach, it drains all other competitors. There are successively a few small tributaries to the upper Schozach in the northeast, the Happenbach , which runs parallel to the Gruppenbach in the east, the Riegelbach and the irrigation near Ilsfeld in the south, the Schozacher Landgraben and the Talheimer Frankelbach in the southwest and the Sontheimer Deinebach on the rest of the way Northwest back to the Schweinsberg .
