action

Idhar village, Gujarat : The young guru Desai wants to become a businessman and travels to Turkey in 1951 against his father's wishes . In Istanbul he earns his first money and gets to know the economic business processes. Nevertheless, after years of work, he renounces the great career in Turkey and returns to India .

There he married the pretty Sujata in order to gain a foothold economically in Bombay with her father's dowry . In 1958 he travels to the metropolis of millions with Sujata and her brother, who is also Guru's business partner Jignesh. Guru desperately tries to build business relationships among the traders. He only succeeds in doing this through tricks and builds up a polyester company.

Years later, Guru becomes a powerful man and owner of the large polyester factory "Shakti Corporation". Guru's dream is to become the largest company in India. But with his corrupt methods he attracts the attention of the publisher Manikdas Gupta, who then incites the reporter Shyam Saxena on Guru.

Shyam made negative headlines for the Shakti company and criticized Gurukant's methods. Tax evasion and smuggling operations from abroad played a major role.

There is a public trial where the guru blames the Indian government and especially its legislation for the economic crisis. Guru, as a poor villager, had no choice but to achieve success with corrupt means. The judges show understanding and gurus' company gets away with a fine.

Many years later, Guru's dream finally comes true: Shakti Corporation is now India's largest company.
