Gustav Maximilian Ludwig Uniko Graf von Münster-Meinhövel (born August 16, 1782 in Osnabrück , † November 6, 1839 in Bern ) was a Prussian major general and heir on Schwartow ( Lauenburg i. Pom. District ).

He was the son of Georg Werner August Dietrich von Münster (1751-1802) and his wife Luise Friederike Wilhelmine, born von der Schulenburg (* December 2, 1764, † April 28, 1786) from the Hohenwarsleben family. Military career

On December 7th, 1803, Munster-Meinhövel became a sub-lieutenant in the Electoral Saxon service with the Garde du Corps , on September 19, 1805, he became Prime Lieutenant , but on November 6, 1805, he resigned from his service in Saxony. He switched to Prussian services , where he came as the third second lieutenant with a patent on February 2, 1803 in the newly established "von Wobeser" dragoon regiment . During the Fourth Coalition War he fought in the battle near Nordhausen before he was taken prisoner during the surrender near Prenzlau. He remained free and was allowed to go to Memel . On March 12, 1807 he received 400 thalers to repair his equipment. On May 1, 1807 he was then replaced.

After his replacement, Munster-Meinhövel came on May 8, 1807 as a Prime Lieutenant in the Marwitz Free Corps, but received his departure as Rittmeister on October 11, 1807 . On November 23, 1808, he received permission to wear his old army uniform. He went into Austrian service, where on July 24, 1809 he was employed as a first lieutenant in the Uhlan regiment "Archduke Karl" and was promoted to Rittmeister on November 6, 1809. In the Fifth Coalition War he fought in the battles near Aspern , Wagram and the Battle of Znojmo . In 1811 he retired from the Austrian service. Münster-Meinhövel returned to Prussian service on November 9, 1812, where he was appointed staff officer in the Brandenburg Cuirassier Regiment . On September 21, 1813, he was transferred as adjutant to Colonel von Wrangel and in this capacity was promoted to Rittmeister on December 8, 1813. On March 29, 1815, Münster-Meinhövel became squadron chief in the 2nd Leibhusaren Regiment , where he was made major on April 1, 1815 and a regular staff officer on September 8, 1819. On February 17, 1822 he was then aggregated into the Guard Cuirassier Regiment, on January 9, 1825 he was aggregated into the 5th Hussar Regiment . There he was promoted to lieutenant colonel on March 30, 1827 with a patent from April 15, 1827, and on March 30, 1829, he was assigned to lead the 2nd Leib-Hussar Regiment. There he was promoted to colonel with a patent from April 13, 1830 on March 30, 1830 , and was appointed commander of this association . On August 20, 1811, he married Julie von der Marwitz (* January 25, 1789; † October 19, 1872) from the Friedersdorf family, daughter of Behrendt Friedrich August von der Marwitz , in the Berlin Cathedral .
