Gustav Adolph Franz Georg Dreising , from 1901 von Dreising (born October 14, 1846 in Smoszew , † June 16, 1917 at St. Apollinar) was a Prussian lieutenant general .

He was the son of the Thurn- und Taxischen land tenant Emil Dreising and his wife Marie, née Steinhagen.

Military career

Three Sing visited the Cadet Corps and was on 18 April 1865 as chargierter Ensign the sixth Brandenburg Infantry Regiment. 52 of the Prussian Army transferred. Promoted to major general , he was given command of the 35th Infantry Brigade in Flensburg on May 18, 1901 . With the approval of his resignation request, Dreising was finally put up for disposal on April 24, 1904, conferring the character of Lieutenant General with a pension . In recognition of his services, he was awarded the star for the Order of the Red Eagle, 2nd class with oak leaves, and the star for the Order of the Crown, 2nd class.

Despite his advanced age, Dreising made himself available during the First World War . He was initially in command of the 25th mixed Landwehr infantry brigade and received the Star with Swords for the Order of the Red Eagle, 2nd class with oak leaves , in April 1915 . Dreising was appointed commander of the 25th Landwehr Division on the Western Front on September 12, 1916 . With the major association he took part in the trench warfare on the Aisne and worked in April 1917 in the double battle Aisne-Champagne . The division then moved to Upper Alsace , where Dreising died on June 16, 1917 near St. Apollinar.
