The Gwadar District is an administrative district in Pakistan in the Balochistan Province . The seat of the district administration is the city of the same name Gwadar .
The district has an area of 12,637 km² and according to the 2017 census, 263,514 inhabitants. The population density is 21 inhabitants / km².

The district is located on the south coast of the Balochistan Province, which is in the west of Pakistan.

Demographics
Between 1998 and 2017, the population grew by 1.86% annually. About 61% of the population live in urban areas and about 39% in rural areas. 141,771 men, 121,728 women and 15 transgender people live in 39,922 households , resulting in a gender ratio of 116.6 men per 100 women, which is a common surplus for Pakistan.
The literacy rate in the years 2014/15 for the population aged 10 and over was 62%, while it was only 37% for women.
