The Qilla Saifullah District , also Killa Saifullah , is an administrative district in Pakistan in the Balochistan Province . The seat of the district administration is the city of Qilla Saifullah .
The district has an area of 6,831 km² and according to the 2017 census, 342,814 inhabitants. The population density is 50 inhabitants / km².
geography
The district is located on the north of the Balochistan Province, which is in the west of Pakistan. Much of the Qilla Saifullah district consists of rough, mountainous and difficult to access terrain. Geographically, the district is mountainous and consists of valleys with different heights above sea level.
history
The district was created in 1988 from parts of Zhob .

Demographics
Between 1998 and 2017, the population grew by 3.05% annually. Around 18% of the population live in urban regions and around 82% in rural regions. 181,870 men and 160,944 women live in 53,478 households, resulting in a gender ratio of 113 men per 100 women, which is a frequent male surplus for Pakistan. Over 90% of the population speak Pashtun .
The literacy rate in 2014/15 among the population aged 10 and over was 40% (women: 6%, men: 76%).

The district is rich in minerals and produces a high quality chromite. The Pakistani government has also started exploring for oil and gas
