The Kech District is an administrative district in Pakistan in the Balochistan Province . The seat of the district administration is the city of Turbat . The district contains the second largest city in Balochistan and is considered the center of the Makran region .
The district has an area of 22,539 km² and according to the 2017 census 909,116 inhabitants. The population density is 40 inhabitants / km².
geography
The district is located on the southwest of the Balochistan Province, which is located in the west of Pakistan.
history
The district was created in 1977 from parts of the Makran district under the name Turbat. In 1995 the district was renamed Kech.

Demographics
Between 1998 and 2017 the population grew at an annual rate of 4.23% and therefore very quickly. About 33% of the population live in urban areas and about 67% in rural areas. 494,443 men, 414,663 women and 10 transgender people live in 138,403 households , which results in a gender ratio of 119.2 men per 100 women and thus a common surplus of men for Pakistan.
