The district Panjgur is an administrative district in Pakistan in the province of Baluchistan . The seat of the district administration is the city of Panjgur .
The district has an area of 16,891 km² and according to the 2017 census 316,385 inhabitants. The population density is 19 inhabitants / km².
geography
The district is located in the west of the Balochistan Province, which is in the west of Pakistan. Much of Panjgur consists of rough, mountainous, and desert-like terrain.
climate
The climate in Panjgur District is warm in summer and cool in winter. The elevation of the terrain is 465 to 1776 meters above sea level. Rainfall is very rare.
history
The district was formed in 1977 from parts of Makran.

Demographics
Between 1998 and 2017 the population grew by 1.60% annually. Around 25% of the population live in urban regions and around 75% in rural regions. 166,731 men and 149,654 women live in 42,628 households, resulting in a gender ratio of 111.4 men per 100 women and thus a common surplus of men for Pakistan. The main languages in the district are Baluch , Brahui , Pashtun , Punjabi and others. The lingua franca is Urdu .
