Håkon Brusveen (born July 15, 1927 in Vingrom , Oppland ) is a former Norwegian cross-country skier.

Career

Brusveen, who started for the Vingrom IL , took 20th place over 15 km and fourth place with the relay at the Nordic World Ski Championships in 1954 in Falun . The following year he was third in the Svenska Skidspelen over 15 km. At the 1956 Winter Olympics in Cortina d'Ampezzo , he achieved fifth place over 15 km and fourth place with the relay. In March 1956 he came in third place over 18 km at the Lahti Ski Games . At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Lahti in 1958 , he achieved 17th place over 30 km, fifth place over 15 km and fourth place with the relay. In the same year he received the Holmenkollen Medal . In 1959 he was third with the relay at the Svenska Skidspelen. At the 1960 Winter Olympics in Squaw Valley , he was Olympic champion over 15 km and also won the silver medal with the relay. This earned him the Morgenbladet gold medal in his home country . At Norwegian championships he won twice over 15 km (1957, 1958), twice over 30 km (1953, 1958) and in 1957 with the relay of Vingrom IL.
