history

Höhenmoos is mentioned for the first time in a document in 788 in the Notitia Arnonis , a list of all goods and possessions of the Church of Salzburg in the ducal Bavarian area on the occasion of the incorporation of Bavaria into the Frankish empire of Charlemagne . It also mentions the two villages Rohrdorf and Lauterbach , which were also parish villages at the time , among numerous other localities . The names of the places at that time were: Huinmos , Rordorf and Lutrinpah . In the Latin text, the church of Höhenmoos is described as Huinmos ecclesia cum territorio , so it was owned by land before 788.

Around the middle of the 18th century, the Catholic Church led the parish under the name Hechenmoss , and the parish, like the entire Catholic parish of Rosenheim, belonged to the Salzburg diocese. Although the official place name was Höhenmoos around the middle of the 19th century , the name Hechenmoosen was still in use at the church for the parish .

On May 1, 1978, the previously independent community of Höhenmoos with its 6.19 km² area was incorporated into the community of Rohrdorf.
