It is located a little below the source of the Beise , which flows through the village as the Fulda tributary. history

The place was first mentioned as Hanenrod in 1222.

Silviculture and a limestone quarry that was no longer in operation used to be the sources of income.

On December 31, 1971, Hainrode , which was then part of the Rotenburg district , was incorporated into the new Ludwigseck community . This was already dissolved on August 1, 1972 and came to the municipality of Ludwigsau.

An old bakery is still in operation today and is the center of the district . Community spirit and care of the village community have been preserved. The community center with the slaughterhouse, the playground and the large parts in-house capacity of the volunteer fire department created fire station with fire water pond are an expression of this commitment.
