Handball-DDR-Oberliga (women) 1976/77

The East German handball championship of the women was with the season 1976/77 held for the 27th time. Champion was the TSC Berlin after 1974 achieved their second title. After two or three years, Post Magdeburg and Chemistry “W.-P.-St.” Guben leave the House of Lords again. The top scorer was Christine Gehlhoff from SC Magdeburg with 170 goals. After a main round with a return leg, the field of participants was halved and a championship and relegation round was played. All games went into the final table.
