Hans-Adolf von Blumröder

Hans-Adolf Ernst Eduard Friedrich Max Kreuzwendedich von Blumröder (born August 5, 1904 in Sigmaringen ; † September 16, 1992 in Munich ) was a German officer who most recently held the rank of Brigadier General of the Reserve of the Bundeswehr and a member of the Federal Intelligence Service .

Hans-Adolf von Blumröder was the son of the Prussian major August Emil Adolf Kreuzwendedich von Blumröder (* 1859), son of Adolf von Blumröder .

Reichswehr

Hans-Adolf von Blumröder joined the Reichswehr in 1924 as an officer candidate in the 5th (Prussian) Infantry Regiment in Stettin . In 1926/27 he attended the infantry school in Ohrdruf and Dresden. From 1927 to 1933 he was a platoon leader and company officer. In 1933/34 he was head of the Eastern Border Guard training group in Schneidemühl. In 1934/35 he served as a captain and adjutant in the 48th Infantry Regiment in Döberitz.

Wehrmacht

From 1935 to 1937, Blumröder completed the general staff course at the War Academy in Berlin. In October 1937 he was Ib of the 18th Division in Liegnitz, in February 1940 Ia in the 298th Infantry Division and in May 1941 Ic in Army High Command 1 . Then he was Ic in Army Group Don , Army Group South and Army Group Northern Ukraine . From August to September 1944, Blumröder was transferred to the Führerreserve before he was appointed Chief of the General Staff of the VIII Army Corps from September 1944 to May 1945 . In May 1945 he was appointed Colonel i. G. in US and British captivity , from which he was released in 1947.

From 1947 to 1956 Blumröder worked in the district association of the CDU in Rendsburg. He was also a consultant to the British Army of the Rhine .

In March 1957, Blumröder became head of department at the Federal Intelligence Service (BND) in Munich. In 1957 he switched to the Bundeswehr and until 1959 was the head of the G2 / A2 teaching group at the G2 / A2 school in Rengsdorf and Bad Ems . From 1959 to 1962 he was Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the Military District 1 in Kiel and then from 1962 to 1964 Head of the Federal Chancellery and Secretary of the Federal Defense Council in Bonn. He was retired in March 1964 and was then used as a Brigadier General of the Reserve as a lead adviser for strategic reconnaissance.
