Hans Hermann Nikolaus von Nitsche (born March 26, 1855 in Hoyerswerda , † December 15, 1927 in Herischdorf-Warmbrunn ) was a Prussian major general .

Life

Hans was the son of the Prussian Lieutenant General Eduard von Nitsche (1825-1903) and his wife Johann, née Krieger (1835-1915).

Military career

Nitsche attended high schools in Posen and Gera as well as the Berlin cadet house . On April 23, 1874, he was transferred as a second lieutenant to the Guard Fusilier Regiment of the Prussian Army . From the middle of February 1878 to the end of March 1881 he was adjutant and investigative officer of the III. Battalions. For three years from October 1881, Nitsche was assigned to further training at the War Academy and in the meantime rose to Prime Lieutenant at the end of August 1883 . On March 22, 1887, he was assigned to the Great General Staff. A year later, Nitsche was commanded as an adjutant of the 34th Infantry Brigade to Schwerin under position à la suite of his regiment and was promoted to captain at the end of March 1889 . During the First World War he was re-used as a ZD officer and from January 15, 1915 was the commander of the 176th Landwehr Brigade. In this position he received the patent for his rank on January 27, 1915 . In association with the "Zastrow" corps , Nitsche took part in the fighting on the Eastern Front and was awarded the Iron Cross, 2nd class. Due to his state of health, Nitsche gave up command of the brigade again and his mobilization provision was then repealed on May 15, 1915.

Nitsche married Klara Dionysius (* 1866) in Przysicka on May 27, 1885. The two daughters Dorothea (* 1889) and Marianne (* 1891) emerged from the marriage.
