The Hansdorfer Brook is a nature reserve in the Schleswig-Holstein municipality of Jersbek in the Stormarn district .

The approximately 275  hectare nature reserve is registered with the number 106 in the directory of nature reserves of the Ministry of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Areas. It was expelled in 1987 (date of regulation: July 8, 1981). A 257 hectare area is part of the FFH area “Hansdorfer Brook with Ammersbek” and at the same time forms the EU bird sanctuary “NSG Hansdorfer Brook”. The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the Stormarn district.

The nature reserve is located northwest of Ahrensburg on the state border with Hamburg . It borders on the “ Duvenstedter Brook ” nature reserve to the west and the “ Ammersbek-Niederung ” nature reserve to the south . To the east and north are the nature conservation areas "Ammersbek" and "Klein Hansdorf".

The nature reserve is characterized as a wetland by original alder and birch forests. Besides are wet grassland , tall sedge , Hochstaudenfluren and lowland forest residues as well as oak and beech forests to find. Some areas in the peripheral areas are also used as fields . To the south, the area merges into the Ammersbek valley . The Bunsbach, a tributary of the Ammersbek, runs through the nature reserve.

In the Hansdorfer Brook, cranes occur as breeding birds . The grassland areas are habitat for snipe and curlew . In reed stocks come Sedge Warbler and Marsh Harrier ago. Bushes and solitary trees offer the red backed a suitable habitat. In the faltering at the Talrändern deciduous forests are middle spotted woodpecker and honey buzzard before, also are Sperber , hawk , tawny owl , Oriole and other birds at home. Cotton grasses , rosemary heather and sundew grow in marshland areas .

The nature reserve is looked after by the Schleswig-Holstein State Hunting Association.
