Harald Martin Brattbakk (born February 1, 1971 in Trondheim ) is a former Norwegian soccer player and five-time top scorer of the Tippeligaen .

Career

society

In his career he played for Kolstad, Rosenborg Trondheim , FK Bodø / Glimt , Celtic Glasgow and FC Copenhagen . He played the longest for Trondheim, where he played a total of eight seasons and scored 153 goals in 223 games. Brattbakk has scored the most goals for Trondheim to date and is second behind Sigurd Rushfeldt in the Tippeligaen's all-time top scorer list .

From December 1997 to January 2000 he played for Celtic Glasgow . The fans considered him the worst purchase in the club's history. Nevertheless, he was able to celebrate a few successes, such as the decisive goal against FC St. Johnstone on the last day of the 1997/98 season, with which Celtic was able to win the championship. He also scored all four goals in the 4-0 win against FC Kilmarnock that same year . But all in all, his time at Celtic was marked by uncertainties in the game and too few goals.

Nevertheless, he was very successful in Norway and also scored goals in the UEFA Champions League against top clubs such as Real Madrid and AC Milan . In addition, he was able to defeat his old club Celtic Glasgow 2-0 with Trondheim in the group stage of the 2001 Champions League season , where he scored both goals.

National team

Brattbakk made his debut for the Norwegian national football team in February 1995 against Estonia , where he also scored his first two goals. He played a total of 17 games in which he scored five times.

End of career

On November 21, 2006, Brattbakk announced on the Norwegian television broadcaster TV3 that he wanted to work as a pilot after his professional career . He completed pilot training at Phoenix East Aviation in Florida and received his official flight license in 2008. Until 2010, he flew for the airline Helitrans . This included deployments for the Norwegian Coast Guard . Since 2010 he has been working as a pilot for the airline Norwegian Air Shuttle .
