Haris Vučkić (born August 21, 1992 in Ljubljana ) is a Slovenian football player , of Bosnian descent . His position is that of the attacking midfielder, preferably in the center. He is under contract with the Dutch first division club FC Twente Enschede .
Career
society
Haris Vučkić began his career in his home country with NK Domžale , whose youth teams he went through all. He made his debut for the first team at the age of 15, which was too young according to the Slovenian regulations at the time, which is why his club had to pay a fine. With Domžale Vučkić became Slovenian champions in the 2007/08 season.
In January 2009 Vučkić, who at the time was considered one of the greatest talents in Europe in attacking midfield, moved to the Premier League at Newcastle United , where he was initially used in the youth teams. For the first team he made his debut on August 31, 2009, when he came on for Nile Ranger in the 1-0 win against Leicester City .
Vučkić could not be in the Newcastle first team permanently and was awarded several times, first in the 2011/12 season to Cardiff City for a month , then for half a year in the 2013/14 season to Rotherham United in the 2014 season / 15 to Glasgow Rangers for three months and finally to Wigan Athletic for the entire 2015/16 season . Despite isolated goals, he has not been able to meet the high expectations that were placed on him as a youth. He finally left Newcastle for the 2017/18 season and joined FC Twente Enschede .
National team
Vučkić played for almost all youth national teams in Slovenia. With the U-19 he took part in the U-19 European Football Championship in 2009 , where for the first time a Slovenian selection was able to take part in a U-19 European Championship, but failed with his team in the preliminary round. He led his selection as captain of the two qualifying matches for the 2015 U-21 European Football Championship against Russia .
He played his first and so far only game for the Slovenian senior team in the friendly against Scotland on February 29, 2012, when he came on for Valter Birsa in the 61st minute .
