The capital region ring highway ( Chinese  首都 地区 环线 高速公路 , Pinyin shǒudū dìqū huánxiàn gāosù gōnglù , English Capital Area Loop Expressway ), Chinese abbreviation G95 , is a ring-shaped highway around the capital Beijing (Beijing) in northeast China . Even if only a 38 km long section of the 940 km long motorway ring runs on Beijing territory, it can be considered as the outermost edge of the Beijing motorway network . The motorway was completed in December 2016 and runs in a wide arc around the particularly densely populated capital region. The highway is popularly known as the Beijing 7th Ring Road.
