The Shanghai – Xi'an or Hushan Highway ( Chinese 沪 陕 高速公路 , Pinyin Hùshǎn gāosù gōnglù , English Hushan Expressway ), Chinese abbreviation G40 , is a highway in China that was completed in 2011 and has a length of 1490 km having. It begins in the northeast of the metropolis of Shanghai and initially leads over the Shanghai-Changjiang-Daqiao tunnel bridge system and the Chongqi Daqiao bridge, which opened in 2011, over the arms of the Yangtze River shortly before it flows into the East China Sea . The highway then heads west via Nanjing , Hefei and Nanyang to Xi'an in Shaanxi Province .
