The Heidmoor is a nature reserve in the Schleswig-Holstein community of Seedorf in the Segeberg district .

The 69.5  hectare nature reserve is registered under number 38 in the directory of nature reserves of the Ministry of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Areas. It was designated at the end of 1991 (date of the ordinance: December 16, 1991) and replaces the nature reserve of the same name designated in March 1941. It is completely part of the FFH area “Heidmoor Niederung” and almost completely part of the EU bird sanctuary “Heidmoor Niederung”. The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the Segeberg district.

The nature reserve is located in the Holstein Switzerland Nature Park on the edge of the Trave valley southeast of the Seekamper See . It protects the rest of the raised bog complex of the upper Trave valley. A remnant bog body is here, that of successional areas and extensively used grassland surrounded areas. The moor was drained and pitted in the 1930s . The nature reserve rest of the bog, the large area of Moorwald occupied is carried Wiedervernässungs measures renatured . Together with the adjacent grassland areas, it forms an important biotope for meadow and water birds as well as birds that need reed beds as a habitat. So come here u. a. Corncrake , lapwing , curlew , snipe , meadow pipit , brown and Stonechat , Skylark , yellow wagtail and quail and marsh warbler , reed bunting , field and Warbler , Whitethroat , backed Shrike , Cuckoo and Linnet ago. Food and winter guests are u. a. Golden Plover , singing and Bewick's swan , crane , black stork , sea eagle , hen harrier , red kite and rough-legged buzzard . The nature reserve is also home to a large number of the tree frog . Typical raised bog plants include: a. To find swamp porst , Scheidiges cottongrass and bell heather .

The nature reserve, which is managed by the Schleswig-Holstein State Association of the German Nature Conservation Union , can be explored on a circular route. There are several information boards along the circular route, which is designed as a cycling and hiking trail .
