Heiko Awizus (born May 14, 1966 in Berlin ) is a former German ice hockey player who last worked as a coach with Marco Rentzsch at ECC Preussen Juniors Berlin until 2010 .

Awizus began his career at BSC Preussen from what was then the 2nd Bundesliga North . There he played until 1987 and then moved to league rivals EC Ratingen , for whom the striker was on the ice for two seasons. From the 1989/90 season , the left shooter went to SV Bayreuth , before returning to his hometown club BSC Preussen Berlin in 1991. In the ice hockey Bundesliga he made it to the semi-finals twice with the club. In 1992, the EC Hannover signed the center before moving to the 1st EV Weiden in the 1995/96 season and then to the ETC Crimmitschau in the 1st League South during the season . After this year he moved to his hometown again, this time to the Berlin ice skating club . Since then he has played exclusively for various Berlin teams, including the ECC Preussen Juniors Berlin and FASS Berlin . For the 2008/09 season he accepted an offer as a player-coach at ECC Preussen Juniors, for which he was a total of four games on the ice.

Trainer

Awizus' first and only coaching station is the one at ECC Prussia, with whom he won the regional league runner-up in the first year and brought  the championship to the Spree in the second year - the 2008/09 season . Also in the 2009/10 season , Awizus led the regional league team together with Marco Rentzsch .
