The Lochis were a German music and comedy duo who became known with their videos for the Internet platform YouTube and their own songs. It consisted of the twin brothers Heiko and Roman Lochmann (born May 13, 1999 in Mainz ).
Career
The two brothers have been running the YouTube channel DieLochis since August 24, 2011 , on which they primarily published song translations and parodies of well-known chart hits. In 2012 they received the audience award in the “Newbie” category of the German Web Video Award . After various television reports and regular publications, the number of subscribers and views rose above average. On October 26, 2014, the channel reached 1,000,000 subscribers.
In August 2013, their own song entered the German single charts for the first time with Durchgangs online . On the VideoDay 2013 in Cologne's Lanxess Arena , DieLochis were able to play the song for the first time in front of a live audience. On March 1, 2014, the new single Ich bin blank was released , which entered the official Media Control Charts at number 34 in Germany. The music video for it was produced by Stefan Erpelding, who also produced the music videos for Y-Titty . The singles "Sunshine", "My Last Day", "Klartext" and "Ab geht's" followed.
At the beginning of January 2015, the two completed their first live tour, the “Lochiversum Tour” through Germany and Switzerland. On December 24, 2015, the movie Brother before Luder came to the cinema, in which the brothers are the main actors and directors. The comedy was produced by Constantin Film . Also in 2015, the Lochis were members of the jury that chose the suitcase word Smombie as the word of the year for young people . In 2016 they completed their school education with a technical diploma in media production . In March 2017, her channel was ranked 18th among the most subscribed YouTubers in Germany. In September 2017, Die Lochis appeared as Joe and Leo Sendler in seven episodes of the successful stele novela Storm of Love .
In 2018, the Lochis took part in the 11th season of the RTL show Let's Dance , with Heiko Lochmann taking 11th place with Kathrin Menzinger , while Roman took 8th place in a duo with Katja Kalugina .
In August 2018, Die Lochis were appointed to the Council for Digital Ethics by the Hessian state government .
In 2018 they took part in the RTL Ninja Warrior Germany celebrity special for the RTL donation marathon .
On May 11, 2019, Die Lochis announced that they are expected to split professionally in September 2019. They state in a video posted on YouTube that they want to "close this chapter" but "not the whole book". On October 11, 2019, the two brothers published their biographical book Welcome to Reality: The Lochis Tell Their Story . On August 31, 2019, they had already released a song of the same name.
In July 2020, her film Takeover, shot in Europa-Park , came to German cinemas.
