Johann Georg Heinrich Ernst von Leipziger (born November 2, 1718 in Wildenau , † May 23, 1790 in Glogau ) was a Prussian major general , chief of infantry regiment No. 3 and knight of the order Pour le Mérite .

Heinrich Ernst came from the old Meißnian noble family of Leipzig and was the son of Hans Dietrich von Leipziger (* 1693; † September 18, 1741), Herr auf Wildenau and his wife Gertrude Elisabeth, née von Schlieben .

Military career

From 1733 Leipziger was a cadet in the Electoral Saxon Cadet Corps in Dresden . 1740 dimittierte he and joined a year later on 16 February 1741 second lieutenant in the infantry regiment "Camas" no. 37 in Prussian service . Leipziger took part with the regiment in the 1744/45 campaign, took part in the siege of Prague and fought at Hohenfriedberg and Thrush . During the Seven Years' War he faced Prague again and fought at Kolin , Zorndorf and Torgau . As a major , on June 5, 1771, Leipziger became the commander of the infantry regiment “von Keller” No. 37 . Leipziger was married to Johanna Klara Hartmann († July 15, 1788 in Glogau) since November 26, 1751. The following children were born from the marriage:
