Heinrich Fiechtner

Heinrich Ekkehard Fiechtner (born September 29, 1960 in Stuttgart - Bad Cannstatt ) is a German hematologist and internal oncologist , palliative medicine specialist and non-party politician (formerly Alternative for Germany (AfD), before that also a member of the CDU and FDP) and a member of the state parliament in Baden-Württemberg . He justified his resignation from the party and parliamentary group at the end of November 2017 with the continued cooperation between his parliamentary group and the MP Wolfgang Gedeon , who was initially not excluded from the party and who was accused of anti-Semitism , despite the scandal .

In February 2018 it became known that the Stuttgart AfD local council group offered Fiechtner a five-digit amount if he gave up his mandate in the local council of Stuttgart, which Fiechtner had rejected.

biography

education and profession

Fiechtner attended the Martin Luther School in Bad Cannstatt and the Free Waldorf School Uhlandshöhe in Stuttgart before he graduated from the Paracelsus High School in Hohenheim in 1980 . From 1980 he studied classical philology at the University of Tübingen and began studying human medicine in 1981 . Fiechtner completed this in 1987 with the state examination and license to practice medicine. From 1988 Fiechtner worked for the German Armed Forces for two years , first as a medical examiner and later as a chief medical examiner. After a short time as an investigator at the State Insurance Institute of Württemberg, he moved to a spa and rehabilitation clinic in Bad Wimpfen and then to a special clinic for diabetes in Bad Mergentheim. From 1992 to the end of 1999 he was employed as an assistant doctor in the Katharinenhospital Stuttgart , where he was certified as an internist and completed further training as an internal hematologist and oncologist. He was also a member of the city's senior emergency physician team for several years. In 2005 he was one of the first doctors to be recognized as a palliative medicine specialist . He is a co-founder of outpatient palliative care in Stuttgart. From 2000 to the end of 2016 he was a partner in an oncology practice in Stuttgart. In 2017 he moved to a medical care center. According to his own statement, his former partner forbade him to enter the practice, which he in turn denied. On the other hand, a former employee accused him of having called her the "ugliest woman in the world", which Fiechtner in turn denied.

politics

After membership in the CDU and the FDP , Fiechtner was a founding member of Alternative für Deutschland in Baden-Württemberg in 2013. Until October 2014 he was deputy state chairman of the AfD and from November 2015 to May 2016 he was district chairman in the Göppingen district . From 2014 to 2019 he was also city councilor in Stuttgart. At the beginning of 2015, Fiechtner compared statements from the Koran with those from Hitler's Mein Kampf and other dictators, which earned him public criticism. Also in 2015, Fiechtner described the green mayor of Stuttgart Fritz Kuhn as a “lousy fascistoid-populist agitator” after he had brought him and his fellow AfD city council members into a connection with fascists and neo-Nazis in a speech on the Stuttgart market square the day before . A short time later, Fiechtner apologized to Kuhn. A party expulsion process initiated as a result of these events was later discontinued. In the state elections in Baden-Württemberg on March 13, 2016, he entered the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg through a second mandate in the constituency of Göppingen (constituency 10) .

After the election, members of the district association in the constituency of Göppingen expressed their displeasure because, contrary to their expectations, Fiechtner did not open a constituency office. He justified this with the frequent damage to property to which such AfD offices were exposed, as well as with the lack of efficiency. Some also criticized the inadequate presence on site. Fiechtner stated that he had great difficulty regulating his work as an oncologist.

During the events surrounding AfD MP Wolfgang Gedeon due to his anti-Semitic positions, Fiechtner sided with Jörg Meuthen and took part in the establishment of a new parliamentary group, the Alternative for Baden-Württemberg ABW. In the state parliament he gave his maiden speech on the subject of anti-Semitism . In December 2016, Fiechtner advocated the introduction of the health card for refugees in the state parliament and thus opposed his parliamentary group. After that, he was no longer used as a speaker by the AfD and was also dismissed as a full member of two committees, the Committee on Home Affairs, Digitization and Migration and the investigative committee for right-wing extremism / NSU II. In February 2017, Fiechtner wrote together with Stefan Herre and Lars Patrick Berg an open letter on the subject of the Gurs memorial after the parliamentary group had supported the cancellation of the funding for this site in the context of budget discussions. In June 2017, Fiechtner filed a lawsuit against the sanctions imposed on him before the constitutional court for the state of Baden-Württemberg . In June 2017, 16 of the 18 members of the AfD parliamentary group present in the Baden-Württemberg state parliament decided to convene a vote to exclude Fiechtner from the parliamentary group.

In June 2017, the AfD in the Bundestag constituency 295 Zollernalb-Sigmaringen convened a new election for the party's Bundestag candidacy, which was justified by formal errors at the original assembly meeting in mid-January. Fiechtner was originally nominated for this. The new nomination of another Bundestag candidate was challenged by Fiechtner. The Stuttgart Regional Court recognized the effectiveness of Fiechtner's election and declared the procedure at that time to be timely and correct in form, but with his will he failed to prevent a new meeting. He has announced that he will object to this.

In April 2020, after interjections and provocations, Fiechtner was excluded from a state parliament session and taken out of the hall by the police. Previously Fiechtner Landtag President had Muhterem Aras ( Green ) accused hebele in times of crisis, the parliamentary system from. Parliament degenerated into a chat room. After Aras him calls to order given and finally the word was taken from him, talked Fiechtner still for several minutes was on, sat on his chair and refused to go to, what brought added police. Fiechtner was expelled for three sessions.

In May 2020, Fiechtner organized moderately attended protests against the Corona regulation .

In June 2020, Fiechtner was again excluded from the state parliament session after several calls to order, did not follow the request and had to be carried out of the hall by two police officers. This time the Bureau expelled him for five sessions. Fiechtner announced that he would be suing the constitutional court for the exclusion.

Resignation from the party and attempted purchase

On November 24, 2017, Fiechtner announced his resignation from the AfD parliamentary group and the party. He justified his resignation with the increased rapprochement of the non-attached, but not excluded from the party anti-Semitic MP Wolfgang Gedeon . After Jörg Meuthen changed the chairmanship of the parliamentary group to Bernd Gögel , the parliamentary group expanded the collaboration with Gedeon, which was always in the background, by allowing him to attend working group meetings. Fiechtner stated that Gedeon was “definitely an anti-Semite” and classified the talks about a potential return from him as “proof of complete neglect of the AfD parliamentary group”.

In February 2018 it became known that the AfD had tried to persuade him, through an advisory contract and private donations, to resign from his seat on the Stuttgart municipal council. He was offered a total of 30,000 euros because, according to Fiechtner, the AfD assumed that after he left the party, he would only keep his council seat because of the money. According to the parliamentary group protocol, Fiechtner was to receive 10,000 euros each from the three other AfD city councilors "privately". The city of Stuttgart stated that it wanted to look at the processes "very closely" and, if there were indications of criminal offenses, to examine legal steps.

Fiechtner said that it had become clear to him that he could no longer leave the local council, "because otherwise I would encourage this lawless attitude." In the local elections in 2019 , Fiechtner lost his seat on the local council. He had run for the Bündnis Zukunft Stuttgart 23 (BZS 23), which received 0.3 percent of the vote.

Personal

Fiechtner was born without a right hand. He is married and has two sons. He lives in Stuttgart-Birkach .
