Heinrich von Fransecky

Heinrich Eduard Rudolf Hermann von Fransecky (born January 4, 1842 in Koblenz , † June 4, 1917 in Wiesbaden ) was a Prussian lieutenant general .

Life

origin

Heinrich belonged to the Prussian noble family Fransecky . His father was the Prussian major Rudolf von Fransecky (1800–1869), his mother Luise a née Clemens (1809–1875).

Military career

After his upbringing in his parents' house and attending schools in Luxembourg , Prüm and Koblenz , Fransecky joined the 25th Infantry Regiment of the Prussian Army on January 1, 1860 as a three-year-old volunteer . There he was promoted to Second Lieutenant in July 1861 and served from March to December 1864 as Adjutant of the 1st Battalion. Fransecky was in the same position at the beginning of the German War in the Replacement Battalion and then joined the IV Field Battalion. After the war he was promoted to regimental adjutant and in May 1870 he became a prime lieutenant . As such, he was in 1870/71 during the war against France leader of the 5th Company and participated in the battles at Pesmes , Belfort , Villersexel , Arcey , Aibre , Clerval , Pont-les-Moulins and Pontarlier and the sieges of Schlettstadt and Neubreisach part . Awarded the Iron Cross 2nd class for his behavior , Fransecky became a captain and company commander at the end of May 1874 . In July / July 1884 he took part in the General Staff trip of the XV. Army Corps , rose to major in February 1886 and was transferred as battalion commander to Infantry Regiment No. 92 in Braunschweig on February 8, 1887 . From the end of March 1891 to mid-July 1893 he was employed as a lieutenant colonel and regular staff officer in the grenadier regiment "King Friedrich I." (4th East Prussian) No. 5 .

Under position à la suite of the 1st Sea Battalion , Fransecky was inspector of the marine infantry until June 1896 . In this position promoted to colonel in mid-July 1894 , he was then appointed commander of the infantry regiment "Herwarth von Bittenfeld" (1st Westphalian) No. 13 in Münster . He was promoted to major general on June 17, 1897, and was transferred to Darmstadt and appointed commander of the 49th Infantry Brigade (1st Grand Ducal Hessian) stationed there . With the approval of his resignation request , he was put up for disposal on August 12, 1898 with the statutory pension . On the occasion of his farewell, Fransecky received the Order of the Red Eagle, 2nd class with oak leaves.

During the First World War , Fransecky was reused as a lieutenant general and used as the commander of the 41st Infantry Brigade in Mainz .

family

Fransecky had married Botilde Georgine Lorenzen (1844-1917) on October 8, 1867 in Aabenraa . The marriage produced a son.
