Helen Zellweger
Helen Zellweger (* 1971 in Zurich ) is an actress, translator and publisher with Swiss roots.
Zellweger was born in Switzerland in 1971 and grew up in Rapperswil , Singapore , Zurich and Vienna . Even as a teenager she performed as a dancer in the Ismael Ivo Dance Company, among others . After graduating from high school in Vienna, she studied acting at the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University (NYU) in New York City . Her first acting engagements took her from 1994 to 1999 at various stages in Graz ( Theater im Bahnhof , Schauspielhaus Graz , Thaliatheater) and at the Burgtheater in Vienna.
While working as an actress, she studied translation studies ( Italian , French ) and graduated with a doctorate in stage translation . She worked as an actress for film and television as well as a freelance translator of literary texts.
In 2014 Helen Zellweger founded the Schultz & Schirm Bühnenverlag with Georg Hoanzl and Michael Niavarani , which she is managing director.
