Helge Klassohn (born April 25, 1944 in Riga , Reichskommissariat Ostland ) is a Protestant theologian and was church president of the Evangelical Church in Anhalt from 1994 to 2008, based in Dessau .

Helge Klassohn came as the second child of the journalist Carl Klassohn and the teacher Erka Klassohn born. from Baehr to the world. On December 13, 2008, he was retired as church president in a service. His successor was Joachim Liebig .

Other activities / functions

During his tenure in Röddelin and Templin, Helge Klassohn was a member of the regional synod of the Evangelical Church Berlin-Brandenburg , chairman of the synod's permanent theological committee and a member of the Stasi review committee.

In his office as church president he is chairman of the regional church council and the church leadership of the Anhalt regional church and thus spiritual director of the church.

From 1997 to its liquidation due to insolvency in 2004, Helge Klassohn was President of the Evangelical Main Biblical Society in the area of ​​the Evangelical Church of the Union (EKU), was Chairman of the Council of EKU from 1998 to 2000, and since 1996 Chairman of the Working Group of the Leading Spiritualists-East Evangelical Church in Germany (EKD) and since 1995 deputy chairman of the working committee of the EKD church conference.

In the summer of 2007, Klassohn succeeded Klaus Wollenweber as the representative of the EKD Council for questions relating to repatriates. He was active in this role until 2015.

Awards

In December 2018 he was awarded the plaque of honor of the Association of Expellees .
