Henry Neßler

Louis Karl Friedrich Theodor Henry Neßler (born May 25, 1851 in Berlin , † January 15, 1911 ) was a Prussian major general .

Life

Neßler attended the French grammar school in Berlin up to the Obersekunda and then joined the Schleswig-Holstein Infantry Regiment No. 84 of the Prussian Army on April 9, 1868 as an avantageur . Appointed officer on July 18, 1869, he went to the Franco-German War as adjutant of the 2nd Battalion . In 1874 he was promoted to prime lieutenant. After two years of attending the War Academy and two years of command as a military instructor in the Cadet Corps , he became captain in the 7th Pomeranian Infantry Regiment No. 54 in Wroclaw in 1885 . In 1894 he was appointed battalion commander of the 4th Upper Silesian Infantry Regiment No. 63 in Opole and Neisse .

On July 22, 1900 he was promoted to lieutenant colonel and as such he was Neßler deputy regimental commander in the staff of the 4th West Prussian Infantry Regiment No. 140 in Inowrazlaw . On October 18, 1902, he was transferred to the Free and Hanseatic City of Lübeck by the AKO , under promotion to Colonel , and there he was commander of the 3rd Hanseatic Regiment No. 162 .

During the imperial maneuver in Altona in 1904 , Neßler was the commander of one of the IX. Regiments belonging to the Army Corps are present.

On the parade board in the Altona Kaiserhof , the emperor announced that Neßler's regiment would henceforth be called "Lübeck".

His wife was involved in the Lübeck Aid Committee with regard to the gifts of love for those of the protection force who fought in the uprising in German South West Africa .

In 1906 he was first transferred to the officers of the army with direction of his residence in Lübeck . He submitted his resignation , which was approved on March 22, 1906, conferring the character of major general with pension .
