Henryk Błażej
Henryk Błażej (born September 2, 1952 in Biskupice Radłowskie ) is a Polish flutist .
Life
Błażej studied at the Kraków Music Academy with Professor Wacław Chudziak. He attended the master classes of Jean-Pierre Rampal and James Galway . In 1976 he graduated with honors. During his studies he won first prize at the national Polish flute competition. He became a member of the Capella cracoviensis. The Ministry of Culture and National Heritage in Warsaw awarded him a scholarship for his achievements .
Błażej played at concerts in Krakow , Poznan , Katowice , Warsaw and Wroclaw . On his concert tours he has performed in more than 40 countries, including Great Britain , France , Italy , Spain , Austria , Germany , Holland , Belgium , Sweden , Denmark , the Czech Republic , Hungary , Slovakia , Croatia , Bulgaria , Romania , the Ukraine , Korea , Iraq , USA , Canada .
Błażej has performed in many famous concert halls, including in
- London : Wigmore Hall , Barbican Center , St. John's, Smith Square , St Martin-in-the-Fields and the Purcell Room .
- Prague : In the Villa Bertram .
- Los Angeles : At the Bing Theater.
- New York : At Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center .
- Paris : In the Salle Gaveau .
- Leipzig : In the Gewandhaus .
Błażej has performed at international festivals, including the Koday Festival in Kecskemét , the Chopin Festivals in Antonin, Miami , New York, the Mozart Festival and Museum Music Festival in Warsaw, the Music Festival in Middlesbrough , the International Festival in Douai , the Łańcut music Festival, the music festival in Lviv in the Ukraine and several Croatian music festivals.
Błażej plays pieces by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart , Frédéric Chopin , Carl Czerny , Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy , Isaac Albéniz , Ignaz Moscheles , Conradin Kreutzer , Claude Debussy , Gabriel Fauré , Francis Poulenc , Jacques Ibert , George Enescu , Pál Járdányi , Ignacy Felacy Felacy , Tadeusz Szeligowski , Alexandre Tansman , Andrzej Panufnik and Witold Lutosławski .
From 1991 to 1995 Błażej was the director of the International Music Festival in Sandomierz . Together with Teresa Kaban he is the founder, artistic and organizational director of the international festival of rediscovered music in Tarnów .
Błażej had many engagements for Polish radio and television, for radio stations in Italy, Germany, England, America, Korea, Croatia, Slovakia and the Czech Republic, for the BBC in London and for Radio Classic KKGO in Los Angeles. Błażej lectures and gives master classes at many Polish and Slovak music schools and at universities in California , Reykjavík and Sicily .
Błażej often appears together with Teresa Kaban at the piano or additionally with the Austrian cellist Wolfgang Mayer as a trio INTER-ART.
