history

The dead end village was first mentioned in 1337 in the possession of a Jacobus de Heberstorp . At a later time, a manor was built, which, as part of the Bärwalde area, was an exclave in the Electorate of Saxony . Around 1470 the von Leipzigk family was enfeoffed with Herbersdorf and thus ruled over the little country. It was divided among the five owners at the beginning of the 18th century. In 1734, the royal Prussian lieutenant general Gottfried Emanuel von Einsiedel acquired various shares in the Leipzig property, which combined the villages of Bärwalde, Weißen, Rinow, Herbersdorf, Kossin, Meinsdorf and Wiepersdorf. After his death in 1745 his daughter Sofia Dorothea took over the villages. From there it came to the von Arnim family . According to the local register of the government district of Potsdam according to the latest district division from 1817 , Herbersdorf had a total of 142 inhabitants in 1817 . In 1928 the manor was combined with the village.

On July 25, 1952, the community was assigned to the newly formed Jüterbog district in the Potsdam district . After the reunification , Hohenseefeld was in the Jüterbog district in Brandenburg . After the district reform in Brandenburg on December 6, 1993 , Herbersdorf was finally assigned to the newly formed Teltow-Fläming district . On October 26, 2003, Herbersdorf was the last of a total of 23 independent municipalities to be incorporated into the Niederer Fläming municipality. The municipality of Niederer Fläming has been part of the Dahme / Mark district since January 1, 2018 .
