Hermann Alexander Stanislaus von Ostrowski (born December 26, 1816 in Memel , † December 2, 1896 in Wiesbaden ) was a Prussian major general and commander of the 17th Infantry Brigade .

Hermann was a son of the Prussian captain Otto Eduard von Ostrowski (1787-1816) and his wife Elisabeth, née Woitkowski.

Military career

Ostrowski visited the cadet houses in Kulm and Berlin . Subsequently, on August 14, 1834, he was transferred to the 1st Infantry Regiment of the Prussian Army as a non-commissioned officer and was promoted to secondary lieutenant until mid-February 1837 . From January to June 1840 he was assigned to the rifle factory in Danzig.
