history

The village, founded by the Břevnov monastery during the colonization of the area , was first mentioned in 1253. Groß Labnay then belonged to the monastery of Braunau for centuries and was under the Politz provost's office . The Czech-speaking village was on the language border, the north and west villages were German-speaking. After the abolition of the Politz Propstei by Emperor Joseph II in 1775, the Politz monastery was formed from it; on condition that an annual lump sum was paid from the income to the religious fund, it remained in the possession of the Braunau- Breunau double abbey .

In 1836 the village of Groß-Labney or Hlawniow in the Königgrätzer Kreis consisted of 78 houses in which 488 people lived. There was a school and a mill in the village. To the east were the abandoned pilgrimage church and the Maria Stern hermitage. The parish was Politz. Until the middle of the 19th century, the village remained subject to the Politz monastery.

After the abolition of patrimonial formed Velký Hlavňov / United Labnay 1849 a municipality in the judicial district Politz . The settlement of Klein Hutberg ( Malé Hony ), which was erroneously attributed to the municipality during a land survey , was separated from Velký Hlavňov again in 1866 and assigned to the municipality of Hutberg . In 1868 Velký Hlavňov was assigned to the Braunau District. In 1878 the community bought a four-wheeled hand gun; on July 15, 1883 the volunteer fire brigade was founded. By order of the Linguistic Commission in Prague, the Czech place name Velký Hlavňov was changed to Hlavňov in 1920 .

After the Munich Agreement remained Hlavňov / United Labnay in "Resttschechei" and was assigned to the náchod district. Until 1945 the village was a border town with the German Empire, the imperial border ran north and east of Hlavňov. After the end of the Second World War, Hlavňov came back to Okres Broumov. On July 5, 1959, the road from Hlavňov to the Sternbaude was inaugurated. In the course of the territorial reform of 1960 the Okres Broumov was abolished, since then Hlavňov has belonged to the Okres Náchod. From 1961 Hlavňov was united with Bukovice to form the municipality of Hvězda; on July 1, 1985 it was incorporated into Police nad Metují. In 1991 Hlavňov had 150 inhabitants. In 2001 the village consisted of 98 houses in which 151 people lived.

Local division
