history

Until December 31, 1969, all of Holterhöfe was part of the former municipality of Willich . In the 1960s, children from the western part of the Holterhöfe needed a special permit in order to be allowed to attend the elementary or elementary school in nearby Anrath. By telephone, part of the area belongs to Anrath (area code: 02156).

On January 1, 1970, the former municipality of Willich became the eponymous capital of the then newly founded town of Willich as part of a municipal reorganization , into which the former communities of Anrath, Schiefbahn and Neersen were also incorporated.

At the same time, however, the eastern part of the Holterhöfe, especially the settlement of the same name, was spun off from the Alt-Willich municipality and added to Krefeld and the Forstwald district.

Infrastructure

If you approach the Holterhöfe from Anrath on the L384, “Holterhöfe” (in Willich's urban area) initially appears as a simple street name.

Road traffic

The main traffic axis from Holterhöfe is the L384, which is also called “Anrather Straße” in Krefeld . In the Willicher part of the Holterhöfe this street is simply called “Holterhöfe”, in Anrath the L384 becomes “Schottelstraße”.

On the eastern edge, Holterhöfe is also affected by the L461, in Krefeld this is the "Gladbacher Straße", on the Willich side it is called "Aachener Straße", in the further course it becomes the Neersener "Hauptstraße".

At the eastern end of Holterhöfe there is also a connection to the B57 (“Gladbacher Straße”) and the A44 (junction no. 24 / “Krefeld-Forstwald”) via the L384 .

Rail transport

There is no railway connection in Holterhöfe itself, but in close proximity, approx. 2 km away:

  • In Krefeld-Forstwald there is the station “Forsthaus”, which is served by the regional train line RB33.

Bus transport

In contrast to the railways and trams, two SWK bus lines run right through Holterhöfe:

  • During the day line 054 with the stops “Hörmeshof”, “Am Stock”, “Rickenweg”, “An der Pappel” and “Anrather Weg”: It runs from Anrath via Holterhöfe and Krefeld Hbf to Krefeld, Bockumer Platz and from there occasionally continue to Uerdingen .
  • In the evenings and at night on weekends, the night express line NE5 runs through the Krefeld part of the Holterhöfe: The NE5 comes from Krefeld Hbf, serves the stops “Anrather Weg”, “An der Pappel” and “Rickenweg” and runs from here back to Krefeld Hbf via forest forest .

Bike trails

The village of Holterhöfe is touched by several cycle paths, a total of 3 officially designated cycle paths lead through the area:

In addition to these officially designated cycle paths, there are other field and farm paths in Holterhöfe that are only conditionally permitted for normal vehicle traffic (“ residents free ”) and are therefore particularly suitable for cycling.
