The Huangpu Jiang , also: “Huangpu River” ( Chinese  黃 浦江  /  黄 浦江 , Pinyin Huángpǔ Jiāng  - “River on the yellow bank”) is a 97 km long river that flows through the Chinese city of Shanghai and on the lower reaches, shortly before the sea into which the Yangtze River flows.

On the western bank to the left of the Huangpu ( 浦西 , Pǔxī  - "west of the Huangpu River") is the promenade The Bund , whose name is based on Anglo-Indian roots. The Pudong Special Economic Zone extends to the right on the eastern bank ( 浦東  /  浦东 , Pǔdōng  - "east of the Huangpu River").
