The Humboldt-Forum Wirtschaft eV (HUFW) is a student initiative in Berlin that has been organizing an annual business symposium at the Humboldt University of Berlin since 2001 . It sees itself as an inter-university and interdisciplinary forum that discusses economic issues at the interface between science and society, between politics and business.

history

The Humboldt Economic Forum was founded in autumn 2000 by a group of business students from Humboldt University. It was linked to the idea of organizing a symposium in which students can deal with economic topics in addition to the lecture material and in dialogue with practitioners from business and politics. The HUFW symposium usually takes place in May (exception: 2007 in November). From 2004 to 2006, an essay competition was also advertised on the symposium topic. In addition to the symposium, other, smaller events are now being organized in the course of the year, such as the ZEIT Campus Dialog (in cooperation with DIE ZEIT), the Johanna Quandt lecture series (in cooperation with the Herbert Quandt Foundation of ALTANA AG as well as the BMW Foundation Herbert Quandt) or workshops (e.g. with the strategy consultancy Bain & Company). Since autumn 2015, a start-up hopping has been organized every six months, where students should be given insights into newly founded Berlin companies.
