IC 3491 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type S in the constellation Coma Berenices the northern sky . It is an estimated 448 million light years away from the Milky Way and is 120,000 light years across.
The galaxies IC 3460 , IC 3498 , IC 3516 are located in the same area of the sky .
The object was discovered on March 23, 1903 by the German astronomer Max Wolf .
