IC 3604 is a spiral galaxy with an active nucleus of the Hubble type Sa in the constellation Virgo on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 589 million light years from the Milky Way and about 55,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 4579 , IC 3573 , IC 3577 , IC 3624 .
The object was discovered by Royal Harwood Frost on May 10, 1904 .
