IC 3606 is an elliptical galaxy of Hubble type E0 in the constellation Virgo to the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 1.5 billion light years away from the Milky Way and about 140,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 4584 , IC 3586 , IC 3631 , IC 3635 .
The object was discovered by Royal Harwood Frost on May 10, 1904 .
