IC 3606 is an elliptical galaxy of Hubble type E0 in the constellation Virgo to the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 1.5 billion light years away from the Milky Way and about 140,000 light years in diameter.

In the same area of ​​the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 4584 , IC 3586 , IC 3631 , IC 3635 .

The object was discovered by Royal Harwood Frost on May 10, 1904 .
