IC 3603 is an elliptical galaxy of the Hubble type E3 in the constellation Coma Berenices in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 617 million light years from the Milky Way and about 75,000 light years across .
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 4595 , IC 3601 , IC 3621 , IC 3622 .
The object was discovered by Royal Harwood Frost on May 7, 1904 .
