İbrahim Kutluay (born January 7, 1974 in Yalova , Turkey ) is a former Turkish basketball player who played at a height of 1.98 m on the position of the shooting guard .

Club career

İbrahim Kutluay started his career at Fenerbahce Istanbul, where he was under contract until 1999. After a one-year stint at Efes Pilsen Istanbul , he moved abroad for the first time in the summer of 2000 and signed a one-year contract with AEK Athens in Greece, where he won his first title with the Greek Cup. In 2001, Kutluay moved to league rivals and Greek record champions Panathinaikos Athens , where he should have the most successful period of his career. In addition to the 2003 double , Kutluay was also able to win the ULEB Euroleague 2002, where he was the most successful scorer of his team with 22 points in the final.

After Kutluay returned to Turkey for a season, he moved to the NBA in 2004 for the Seattle SuperSonics . Since Kutluay was hardly used in Seattle, however, he returned to Panathinaikos in early 2005, where he was able to win the double again. After a stint at the Turkish first division club Fenerbahçe Ülker , Kutluay signed a contract with the Greek club PAOK Thessaloniki on December 31, 2007 . From summer 2008 to summer 2009 he played for the Turkish second division ITÜ Basketbol Takımı. Here he came to a few missions due to injury, whereupon he ended his active career as a player in summer 2009.
