I am me is a song of the German electro - duo Glass Bead Game . The piece is the second single from her debut album Move with me .

Creation and artwork

The song was written by Daniel Grunenberg , Matthias Mania, Finn Martin and Carolin Niemczyk . The single was produced by Ingo Politz , Mic Schröder and Bernd Wendlandt, and co-produced by Daniel Grunenberg. The single was mastered at TrueBusyness Mastering in Berlin under the direction of Sascha Bühren, the single was mixed by Mic Schröder. The song was released under the Polydor music label . On the cover of the maxi single you can see a picture of Glasperlenspiel next to the artist and the song title. The cover picture was shot by German photographer Anita Bresser and designed by Kropac Media.

Publication and promotion

The single was first released on March 16, 2012 in Germany, Austria and Switzerland . The maxi single is available as a download and a physical sound carrier. In addition to the single version, the digital maxi single also contains an acoustic version and two remix versions of Ich bin ich , as a B-side . The remix versions are from Banks & Rawdriguez and Tocadisco . The physical maxi single is only available as a "2-track single" and contains the songs Ich bin ich and Ich bin ich (acoustic version) .

Music video

The music video for Ich bin ich celebrated its premiere on February 23, 2012 on MyVideo . You can see Niemczyk getting into an argument with her boyfriend in a restaurant . Later, Grunenberg also got into an argument with his partner while going to the cinema . At the end, both couples meet with their friends for a game of table tennis , and in the end the partners of Niemczyk and Grunenberg fall in love. In between, you can see glass bead games singing the song against a gray or white background. The total length of the video is 3:33 minutes. Directed by Marcus Sternberg , it was produced by Free The Dragon Filmproduktion.
